"Songs From the Wondering Stars" is a 20 minute album of 13 short songs recorded between August 2021 and July 2022 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Unlike my past two albums of songs ("Ocean Island Altar Angel" and "Subliminal Seraphim"), these songs are more intimately focused in both scale and arrangement, being made solely on overdubbed acoustic guitars and lush hushed vocal harmonies. In prayerful imagination, each song was spontaneously created following meditation on one of the 81 "Wondering Stars," a personal collection of geometric emblems. I've developed this practice over the last several years, and I continue to use these emblems to elevate my imagination and ignite my spirit--you can see some of these emblems on the back of the turtle's shell on the album cover. Though these songs are shorter than what you might be accustomed to, they are neither unfinished nor fragmentary. Rather, they are abstract hymns of their own complete nature, a necessary music born from reflections upon and celebrations of the Mystery in an era that is terribly starved of it.
