MUSIC
My work explores music as a site of dreamwork, divination, and metaphysical listening, rooted in animist archivism and intersensory translation. I began playing guitar at 14 in Jackson, Mississippi, developing an early practice of graphic scoring—first using photos from National Geographic Magazine as scores—and later launched Faces of Sound in Portland, Oregon, a collective practice of scored-improvisation involving social geometry, chain reaction cycles, and outdoor environments. Since 2008, dreamwork and nature studies have guided my approach to composition, notation, and performance, informing projects across chamber music, trance guitar, songwriting, and experimental vocal works.
Since 2020, my focus has turned toward archival research and the creative reuse of historical recordings, scores, and ephemera treating the archive as both instrument and collaborator. My primary instrument remains guitar, approached through open tunings and trance-based methods, as heard on releases such as The Living Mirror (The Crystal Cabinet, 2021). My work has been presented across diverse settings—from forests and nature preserves to galleries, DIY spaces, and intimate domestic environments—often oriented toward acts of listening that engage the unknown, or rather, the Unknowable.
